Beautiful People: Celebrity trainer Mandy Ingber

Yoga has a funny reputation. It’s associated with spirituality and relaxation – yet, it’s also linked with tight and fit bodies. Mandy Ingber, author of the new book Yogalosophy: 28 Days to the Ultimate Mind-Body Makeover and celebrity trainer to clients such as Jennifer Aniston, Kate Beckinsale and Courtney Cox, talks to Glow about the many balancing benefits of yoga.

What will the last 10 years of your life be like?

I find the most powerful PSAs are more about empowerment than fear mongering. And this is a great example of getting people to think about their health instead of being afraid of it.

As seen in Glow: Ask a health editor

What is the latest celebrity diet?

Behind the scenes

Hair & makeup prep for today’s @glowcanada photo shoot #bts #behindthescenes

This afternoon I was working with the super creative Joanna Kam from Glow, as well as makeup artist Patrick Ramé. They are both great to have on set, since they always have a good laugh and are very sweet. Here you see Patrick doing some serious contouring on our beautiful model. But you will just have to wait until the issue comes out to see it! I don't want to give everything away. Let me just say your arms will love this workout challenge. Stay tuned until September!
Heck, why not read more: Here are three published workouts you don't have to wait to read.

Raise the barre

Looking to advance your at-home workout? Paulina Witkowski, a trainer and instructor at Barreworks in Toronto, offers up three challenging barre moves. But don’t be scared. These are low-impact moves that reallytarget the muscles through isolating and controlled movements. “They target those small, stabilizing muscles that aren’t usually targeted in other workouts,” says Witkowski, who’s been a dancer for 20 years. “It’s not a dance class – it’s a real workout!”

Everything you need to know about CrossFit

Want to try CrossFit? It’s easy to see why it would be intimidating. The hardcore workout mixes Olympic weight lifting, powerlifting, kettle bells, gymnastic and endurance exercises. The military-style of training is said to have heart-health and fat-burning benefits. Even Jessica Biel and Cameron Diaz have embraced the exercise trend. But if you’re still a bit nervous about stepping into a CrossFit gym, I interviewed John Vivian of crossfitto.com to find out what you need to know.
